About 10 years ago I was a soldier stationed in Bamberg, Germany, and through a friend's suggestion I bought a guitar and began trying to teach myself to play. After realizing that it was much harder than I had expected I decided that I needed some formal lessons. Luckily my barracks was right across the street from the barracks that the 1st Infantry Division band called home. After seeing him play one night at a local bar (and being blown away by his ability I might add) I learned that the guy playing the guitar was in the 1st ID band. I then decided that I would ask him to teach me guitar more in depth. Tempee told me right away that he would gladly give me lessons. When we began our sessions the thing that I was most impressed with was the fact that he was very interested in the level of ability that I possessed at the time, as well as the musical style that I was interested in. His methods of teaching enabled me to gain an understanding of the instrument that to that point I had not yet had. Eventually, as is normal in the armed services, Tempee had to move on to another duty station but the things he taught me stuck with me. I eventually ended up playing guitar and singing professionally in two rock bands and to this day still have a passion for playing the guitar that I directly attribute to Tempee. The guitar is a lifelong journey and Tempee Warmack set me along that path and showed me just how rewarding it could be. I owe him more than I can repay him.

When I started with Tempee, I knew a few chords and maybe two old folk rock songs-sort of. All I wanted to do was learn to play the folk music I wanted to play when I was a kid well over 40 years ago. About a month into lesson, Tempee asked if I'd be interested in studying jazz. I said something like, "Jazz? That's hard, isn't it?" He somehow convinced me otherwise. Tempee worked within my musical ability, patiently at my own pace. Now, about 18 months later, I am learning what it is to become a musician, which has become more important that just learning a few songs. I've taken guitar lessons before, but never stuck with it. Tempee makes learning the guitar as enjoyable as it is challenging. Tempee instills confidence. He believes that everyone who wants to learn music can do it. I won't be the next Charlie Byrd, Charlie Christian, Pat Metheny or Joe Pass. Who cares? What matters is how much I enjoy playing and learning thanks to Tempee.

Great teacher, great musician, great guy! I grew up playing the guitar and sadly left that part of my life 20 years ago as I focused on my career. When my children (boy age 7, girl age 5) asked to learn how to play, I felt both overjoyed for them and recommitted to music myself. My kids and I have been taking lessons with Tempee since January 2011 and couldn't be happier. The kids do a joint lesson, and then I have my own. Tempee is leaps and bounds better than any instructor I had in my younger days. He is incredibly patient (especially with my 5-year old), extraordinarily flexible, and does a great job of making sure we work on the songs, theory, etc. that we want to learn. Furthermore, Tempee does an outstanding job of being more than just a "per lesson" teacher and really works on your complete and continual guitar education. We regularly trade emails throughout the week, exchanging notes and links about the songs/techniques I am working on, and offering perspectives and reviews on the latest gear I am thinking about. Regardless of your skill level, I am confident that you will learn a tremendous amount from Tempee -- I cannot think of a better learning experience for either myself or my kids. We live in Annapolis, and the short drive to Riviera Beach is totally worth it. Tempee is inspiring and insightful, knowledgeable and wise -- I strongly recommend him to you without any reservations.

If you have always wanted to learn to play the guitar he is your man. Never give up on your dreams. Young or old, Tempee makes you believe in yourself. He is patient and understanding. Tempee breaks everything down to your level of understanding. He helps you to understand music theory in an individualized manner. You will never take music for granted again. You will appreciate all music in a much deeper way. It is hard, but each day with practice, practice, practice, you will see yourself improve. Go for it! What are you waiting for? Just do it!

“Mr. Tempee” introduced my young grandson, Eric, to the guitar. Tempee not only taught him the basics of the instrument, he instilled in Eric comfort with music and a lasting importance of music in his life.

Awesome Guitar Teacher!‎‎ I took lessons with Tempee for a little over a year, and I learned so much from working with him. My playing technique and knowledge of music theory have improved dramatically from his lessons. He knows so much about music it's astounding, and he is committed to helping his students. Tempee even gave me useful suggestions on how to improve my practicing at home. All-in-all Tempee is a good, honest guy and an excellent person to learn from.‎
